‘Oceanic Spectrum’ – Logo Idea

Here are some examples using the name for exhibit as “Oceanic Spectrum”:

These are based on the concepts of:

Scales – (moving on to the visualization of fish scales)
Patchiness of blue/ocean
Using the incubator
Linking Land and Ocean
The importance of where our exhibit meets – (Northwest Atlantic)

Updated Poster on: ‘3 Nodes of Entanglements’/'Activating Roles within the Exhibit’

This is just based on feedback given before the last pitch we gave, on the readibility of the poster I was working on.

Here is the version:

Thoughts on the Invitation Design

(Please Add to these lists)

Objective (in development):

To design an invitation for the exhibition that is enticing, clearly states the background and objectives of the project, and which speaks to fisherman, scientists, and “foodies”. The language and design should reflect:

  • the relationship these groups have to each other
  • the relationship these groups have to the ocean
  • the scale involved
  • the interconnectedness of natural/cultural systems
  • the patchiness of the ocean

Speculating on what design qualities and visual elements will attract these groups:

Foodies: craftsmanship, authenticity, tactile, creativity

Fisherman: clear visuals, clear language, bold

Scientist: experimentation, data
